We recommend using a wax polish (like we've done here) for that classic shoe shine look. Polishing Cloth: A soft polishing cloth is essential for shining your shoes. While you can buy a cloth specific for shoes, an old t-shirt wrapped around two fingers also makes a terrific polishing cloth.
Best Conditioner: Saphir Renovateur. Best Wax Polish: Saphir Medaille d'Or Pate de Luxe. Best Color Polish: Tarrago Cream Polish. Best Budget Polish: Moneysworth & Best Cream Polish.
Olive oil or walnut oil works for smooth leather as well, and is an alternative to traditional shoe polish. Work a small amount into the shoe and polish with a soft cotton cloth. Again, try this method in an inconspicuous spot before using the oil on the entire shoe.
It is infused with silicon oil and carnauba wax to bring self-shine to your shoe.
Step 5 - Dip a clean, dry cloth in some coconut oil and apply a thin, even coat to the entire boot or shoe in a circular motion. Let sit for 20 minutes, then use a clean cloth to wipe any excess coconut oil away and buff the shoes. Your boots will look like new and be ready to wear.
Peel a banana, as you normally would, and eat said banana. Then, rub the soft inside of the banana peel over your shoes.
Shiny like new.
Put 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda into the bowl and soak a soft cloth in it. You can then use the cloth to gently rub any leather items that have scuffs or stains. To avoid pushing the stains in further, move the cloth in light, circular motions. Over time, you should start to see the marks disappear.
The solution will kill all the bacteria that may be on the surface.
Regardless of whether you opt for a stiff-bristled brush or old T-shirt, we do highly recommend purchasing a long-bristled softer brush to help clean any excess polish on the shoe.
Every four to six weeks
To use shoe polish, start by brushing the shoes free of dirt or giving them a quick going over with a damp, sudsy sponge and removing the laces. Then, using a soft cloth like an old t-shirt, apply a thin layer of polish to the shoe, let it dry, and then buff using a shoe brush or a clean soft cloth.
