This styler is protein and glycerin free- which makes it ideal for weather extremes and low porosity hair! Also makes for a great gel to refresh with since it's so moisturizing and not at all sticky.
Glycerin is good for hair that's curly, thick, or frizzy, though it can be beneficial to all hair types. It's helpful for damaged hair and may condition well enough to stop breakage. Hair will appear to grow faster because it's not breaking off at the ends.
Care should be taken to use it in environments of moderate humidity. If the climate is very hot and humid, glycerin will absorb a lot of moisture from the air and cause the hair to swell, raising the cuticle and disrupting curl pattern, creating coarse, frizzy hair.
Magnesium sulfate, also known as Epsom salts, is an ingredient often touted as a natural curl booster or curl activator for hair. It is typically used in leave-in conditioners and curl enhancers, both commercially available and homemade, and it is applied via a spray-on delivery method.
Follow with your favorite Jessicurl styling products. Too Shea can also be left in for all day moisture on dry curls or used as a deep conditioner for finer hair that gets weighed down easily. Plus, all of our conditioners have been formulated for use as leave-ins!
